Greek Gods Research Project - Research, Part 3

Aim:
IWBAT research information about a Greek god/goddess using credible online sources.

Tasks:
1. Homework Check: Chapter 10

2. Today's Overview:

• Review aims and agenda.
• Review required assignments (by end of class):
• read Chapter 11
• finish Quill lessons due on May 12th & 13th
• research using sources A (Britannica), B (Mythica), and at least one other (C through L)

   

Rotation A: READING
3. Read The Lightning Thief:

• Chapter 11: "We Get Advice from a Poodle" -- pp. 168-187
• audiobook: Part 4 -- 51:22 to 1:08:10 and Part 5 -- 0:00 to 17:23 (~35 minutes long)

4. Quill.org (10 minutes): complete the lesson(s) due this week, from May 12th though May 16th

• Finished Early? You may:
• continue to research your god/goddess using the sources at the bottom of this page
• work on other assigned Quill lessons
• read your AR book silently
• work on TeenBiz3000
• learn more about Perseus
• explore other Greek gods and goddesses
• watch the author speak about his book, The Lightning Thief
• explore other characters on the Camp Half-Blood Wiki
• learn more about the Oracle, or ask the Oracle your own question

5. Continue Researching

• If you didn't finish reading and taking notes from Encyclopedia Britannica or Encyclopedia Mythica, go back and reread those articles first. 
• If you have finished using sources A and B, use any of the other sources listed (C through L).
• Takes notes in your graphic organizers.
• Next to each note, write the source code to indicate this information came from (A for Encyclopedia Britannica, B for Encyclopedia Mythica, C for The British Museum, D for Greek-Gods.org, etc. -- see resources list below and match with the letter shown in the list).

• Finished Early? You may:
• continue to use different sources (below) to research your god/goddess
• start reading rotation early (read a chapter + complete Quill lessons)
